After just one edition, Flamenco On Fire has become quite a reference in the calendar of festivals – and not only in the north of Spain – based on good ideas, talent, quality, and work well done. An excellent menu that backs both leading names and emerging artists in the three areas of flamenco: cante, toque and baile. Merging orthodoxy and heterodoxy, marinating art in countless multidisciplinary sauces, quality ingredients and the best chefs of the flamenco world’s kitchens. And if you add, with love, four premieres to all of this: Remedios Amaya, Manuela Carrasco and Antonio Canales, Farruquito, María Juncal and Jorge Pardo – no palate could possibly resist.

Furthermore, the program will last an extra nine days – quite an extension – at emblematic venues, such as el Baluarte, Teatro Gayarre and, for the first time, the Catedral de Pamplona, ​​where a flamenco mass will be held on the first Sunday of the Festival, with Estrella Morente and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra. Pamplona takes its hat off and bows to flamenco, and the city is set in the spotlight of flamenco art internationally, as it was throughout the twentieth century by its great artist – the master, Sabicas.

As a novelty, Flamenco On Fire will also host a nocturnal series of performances at the Hotel Tres Reyes in Pamplona, ​​in a typical flamenco-bar atmosphere, with 250 seats, where you can enjoy the art of Farruquito, Josemi Carmona, Juan Carmona or Iván Vargas and Jose Enrique Morente, among others. And the show goes on until the small hours, when the flamenco spirit tends to awake more readily.

Like last year, Conferences on Flamenco Art will also be held, with the Navarra-born master of the six strings always in mind; and the Ruta Gastronómica El Pincho de Sabicas, where you can enjoy some tasty tidbits with a special twist. Ole! Not forgetting the lectures, panel discussions, classes, courses and film screenings.

The Festival will include a flamenco gala tribute to Jose Antonio Carmona Carmona (Granada, 1944) – ‘Pepe Habichuela’ for the art – from the flamenco dynasty, Los Habichuela, which started in Madrid, with Mario Escudero and one of the essential artists to understand concert guitar, Sabicas.

Flamenco dancing, mainly from Seville, with Manuela Carrasco and Antonio Canales, two national dance award-winners, and Farruquito; also the pianist Dorantes… Granada is also a protagonist in baile, through Estrella y Marina, or Iván Vargas and the Carmona family.
